SCOUT

 

SCOUT is a joint project with the Learning Technologies Research Group funded by the NERD postgraduate research training group investigating the security education needed for students in the 5th and 6th grade.

A human-centered approach to security is needed to mitigate risks originating from the end-user. Children already use a myriad of online services today and are exposed to the risks of them. The goal of SCOUT is to research the security risks and the associated skills students need today to be able to prevent harm from such risks.

Together with the Learning Technologies Research Group we aim to develop Open Educational Resources that help students in the 5th and 6th grade, as well as their parents, and their teachers to build the necessary knowledge for being more secure in the online world.
